How it all started...
The first vision gathering took place on August 20th, 2017 in a meeting room at the Baton Rouge Regional Library on Bluebonnet Blvd. with 12 adults, and 11 children. The following week, we began a weekly Bible Study that met in the cafe of Parkview BC. In December 2017 Renew Church moved its weekly Bible study to the Student Building at Parkview BC where the official launch of Renew Church took place on March 4, 2018 with 25 people.
Expanding the vision...
3 months after launch, Renew Church relocated to the gymnasium of Florida Blvd Baptist Church. Just 19 months into this new church plant, while holding worship services in the gymnasium of Florida Blvd Baptist Church, Renew Church was presented with an opportunity to “adopt” Florida Blvd Baptist Church and make the current location our permanent church home. In October of 2019, the FBBC congregation voted to give the church property and assets to Renew Church and several FBBC members decided to remain and join the Renew Church family.
Where we are headed...
We believe we have a responsibility to bring the hope of Jesus to our community, city, state, nation, and the world. We are excited to see continued growth numerically, spiritually, and relationally as we continue to love and serve the Lord through the ministry of Renew Church!
God has done great things, but we believe we are just getting started, and God has so much more for us to accomplish for His Kingdom. You are invited to join us in bringing the life transforming message of Jesus to those who need it.
